LIZA

“Liza” exposes one of the most outstanding traditional cultural and clandestine contradictions. The rooster fight. The combat between two species with the same characteristics as a sign of violence that translate into social violence among all humans.

Interaction with another continent is vital for our development as a collective. Our current cultural policy forces us to look only at one side of art. Promoting through bilateral exchanges/cooperation agreements, relations that allow us to enhance, preserve and sustain education, exhibition, and dialogues in Venezuela. Create and strengthen bonds. Now more than ever we can’t talk about a country in crisis. We are talking about a world that needs to be supported. Therefore, it is necessary to be ambassadors of information that strengthens and unifies us to continue surviving.

THE INVISIBLE

“The invisible” is an interdisciplinary performance made for a single dancer. Four artística proposals convine: the plastic, the dance, the video, and the music. All together will give a speech on self-discovery, rebuilding, and destruction at the same time in a nomad body. Creating a new body that faces a new source of energy and sensitivity to alter itself. A human being that does not obey any rules without staying away from the world.

My choreographic work and my teaching and research contributions have an authentic value insofar as they contain a memory of more than thirty years and, at the same time, seek to provoke at each moment the rebirth of new ideas in the field of choreographic creation. The creative action from the free and individual gaze is a necessity. My work has been characterized by arising from the intimate need, the author’s work becomes essential in a globalized world and it is necessary to weigh the world from an author’s art. From our Latin American countries, we have grown, especially in art, under a strong Eurocentric influence. I propose a look from our mestizo continent that does not seek to exploit the roots of our ancestors, nor copy west stereotypes, I seek to reflect through the work on what I really am… a contemporary being.
